GEOSCOPE and The GeoDome Digital Theater
Long before the advent of the internet, Fuller envisioned a network of spherical scientific displays called GEOSCOPE that would exhibit animated, real-time global data allowing humanity to “recognize formerly invisible patterns and thereby, forecast and plan in vastly greater magnitude.”
The GeoDome Digital Theater is a fully enclosed, inflatable learning environment designed to immerse an entire classroom of students. This immersive educational tool creates a 360 degree audio/visual experience that is highly engaging and enables participants to collectively explore a broad range of interdisciplinary subjects. The GeoDome allows educators and storytellers to interactively guide audiences through beautifully rendered visualizations of scientific data. As a tool for immersively presenting concepts and narratives within an easy-to-understand visual context, it provides transformative experiences for learners of all ages.
“I saw my entire Earth Science Astronomy Unit presented in less than an hour in a mind-riveting way. Behaviorally challenged students were awed, attentive, and appreciative of this format. It parallels many students’ computer gaming activities and gives them a real-world perspective of often difficult-to-grasp concepts. It was no less than an amazing experience and it propelled me and my mission to a new level.” Kay McLeod, North Buncombe High School

Smart Board Interactive Displays
Aboard Spaceship Earth lessons are designed to integrate Smartboard digital technology with the dynamic, hands-on activities. Math, Science, and Geography come to life through the synthesis of visual and kinesthetic experiential learning. The touch screen and interactive nature of the Smartboard equipment engages students by allowing access to sophisticated scientific data through a fun and imaginative "Spaceship Earth Control Panel".
